Designed for the Environment

Crafted from PaperShell – an innovative, sustainable material made from 29 layers of paper bonded with natural resin – Catifa Carta is engineered to serve as a durable alternative to wood and other traditional materials in design and architecture. With deep respect for the environment, it significantly reduces its ecological footprint by capturing carbon dioxide throughout its entire lifecycle.

A Circular Process with a Positive Environmental Impact

Through the process of pyrolysis, PaperShell – once it reaches the end of its lifecycle – is transformed into biochar, a carbon-rich material.
Biochar has the unique ability to capture carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere, actively contributing to the fight against climate change.

This transformation minimizes the material’s environmental footprint while turning waste into a valuable resource that enhances soil quality and supports biodiversity. With Catifa Carta, we go beyond simply reducing our carbon footprint – we fully embrace the concept of lifecycle design.

Catifa Carta – Flexibility & Precision in Design

Catifa Carta offers design flexibility and customization options, featuring optional exposed metal armrests and a variety of base configurations.

The shell of Catifa Carta is available in a coffee color and the base in three options:

• Steel 4-leg base in black
• Steel sled base in black and rust
• Black aluminum trestle base with and without wheels

Cushions and removable cover options are also available to add color and extra comfort.
